How to use a Jute Table Runner
Some people choose to use a table runner as a decoration when the dinner table is not being used while others prefer to use table runners with either table linens or placemats for dinner parties. A table runner can be used with or without a table cloth underneath it, depending on the formality and style of the event.
The length of a table runner should be 12” longer than the width of the table, so that the edges of the runner have a 6” drop. The table runner usually looks good when its width is approx. 1/3rd the width of the table. Center the table runner on the table so that equal amount of linen or table shows on each side of the table runner. If you keep the table runner on the table while dining, make sure that there is plenty of room for a dinner plate without the table looking crowded.
Before buying a jute table runner for your dining table, you will need to decide on the size to order. Table runners are not “one size fits all”.
