Summer is here which brings in high temperature and soaring electricity bills. By following few simple tips can drastically reduce your energy bills and make your wallet big and fat. Here are some few ecofriendly tips.
Raise The Temperature of the thermostat: Forget the idea of keeping your home super cold in summer. The more you lower your thermostat, your air conditioning cost increases.
Unplug your machines: Save money by unplugging all your electric devices like cell phone charger, computers and other electric appliances in the kitchen.
Use Fan: Using your ceiling or pedestrian fans along with the AC cools your room significantly. A quick tip is first turning on the fan. Wait for 10 minutes and then put the AC on. Sometimes the air circulation of the fan psychologically let you not to turn on the AC at first. This way you can save your energy bills every month. Turn the fans off when you leave the room.
Redecorate: Use blinds and heavy drapes for windows that catch direct sun in the summer. This would minimize the external heat radiation.
Use less dryer and dishwashers: Use cloth dryer at night to avoid peak energy rates. Avoid using dishwashers more often. Always pre rinse the dishes before putting in the washer. The pre rinse cycle absorb a greater amount of energy than the normal cycle.
